But.. as we got a little older sleeping on the ground seemed to lose its adventure and became more work than it was worth. So my folks came to the conclusion that it would be much better off to rent an RV. We never purchased one, but renting one and going down the I-10 from Arizona was awesome. Totally worth it- Everyone was cozy and comfortable and it just presented a whole new list of adventures in general. Just like Shirley- My family also started out in tents. Soon after the kids had all grown up we switched to a tent trailer. I loved it because it was very easy to pull and really easy to set up. We had many fun trips to the Oregon coast with it and never had any problems. Ours had a bathroom in it so it was really self contained. I have never been sorry that we used a tent for many years but I sure was glad to get rid of it and get the tent trailer. My family started out in a tent and we loved it.
